Effects of Energy Drinks on People

Every where you go these days you will find someone selling energy drinks. Energy drinks are used to give a person an energy boost to help them stay productive throughout the day.  Research has shown the effects of energy drinks are much worse then we have thought.

Researchers did a study using 30 adults, the study was to find out the effects of energy drinks on a persons body.  The persons blood was tested before drinking 1 can of a popular energy drink.  About one hour later they tested their blood a second time.

Researches found out that after the second blood test, after they drank a can of the energy drink the persons blood system was no longer normal.  The test showed they were abnormal, and mimic the blood test results of a person with cardiovascular disease.  This does not sound like a good thing to be putting into your body.

The report recommends:

  • Children under the age of 16 never should use these products
  • These products should not be used with alcohol
  • They should not be consumed during heavy activity

I was recently told to stop drinking alchohol by my Dr. because of damage to my liver. I have started drinking Red Bull and other energy drinks. Does this have a negative effect on my liver as well? Please advise.
